Ruth Ringelstetter

The 2006 4PeteSake Committee recipient was Ruth Ringelstetter, local businesswoman and friend to many. Ruth was best known through her 24 years of working at The Shed. In 2003 she became co-owner & operator of Woody's on Highway 14.

Ruth was diagnosed with rectal cancer in early 2006 and underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy to help her fight the disease. In early April, Ruth had surgery to remove the cancer. The 4PeteSake Committee helped her with medical and other unpaid costs. It was hoped that Ruth would be treating everyone to an after-cancer party in early 2007, but another form of the disease attacked her body. The outpouring of support and love from all of you on 4PeteSakeDay and throughout the year helped her through many dark days. On Tuesday, June 12, 2007, Ruth lost her valiant fight. Our prayers and best wishes go out to Ruth’s family and friends as they mourn her passing.

Thanks to Ruth and Gayle and their many friends and relatives, the benevolences of local organizations and companies, the music of our bands, and the donations of artists from all over the area our August 2006 4PeteSake Day was another success. As we look forward to this year’s campaign the committee hopes that we can count on another group of dedicated volunteers again this year.

Enclosed is a personal note about Ruth from Gayle:

Ruth fought very hard to beat her cancer. But after 18 months, she just could fight no more. From day one of the discovery of this unforgiving disease, it was very apparent how much Ruth was loved. The show of support, compassion, and true unconditional love that flowed her way was nothing short of amazing. There are simply no proper words in the English Dictionary to describe this overwhelming feeling nor express our love and gratitude back to you sufficiently. I want you to know that whether you sent a card, left a message, or simply said a prayer that you always put a smile on Ruth’s face and in her heart. Thank you for the Love.

To The 4Petesake Organization - A Special Thank You, - You Offered Hope.

Gayle
